  • Australian Data Breaches More Costly Than Ever: Report | GSA

< News Australian Data Breaches More Costly Than Ever: Report 6 Aug 2026 The average cost of a data breach for Australian organisations has grown to A$4.19M in 2026, according to IBM’s Cost of a Data Breach Report 2026. Good News / Bad News The good news - if there’s anything “good” about losing $4M to hackers - is that Australia ranked 14th of the 16 countries IBM analysed, ahead of only India and Brazil. We’re also well below the global average of A$7.07M. The bad news is that Australian breach costs jumped 16% year on year, outpacing the global increase of 12%. Only South Africa (22%) and Germany (18%) saw sharper rises. Costs rose in every region this year, and Australia is climbing faster than most. In other words, the gap between Australia and the rest of the world is closing. Record Global Costs Globally, breach costs hit a record high, driven largely by detection, escalation and lost business costs. The mean time to identify and contain a breach rose to 247 days, reversing five years of improvement. Phishing remained the top initial attack vector for the 4th year running, and it was also the costliest at A$7.18M per breach. AI-driven attacks are making breaches faster and cheaper to launch, and more expensive to find and fix. MFT Protects One of the most overlooked breach risks sits in plain sight: how organisations move files. And that’s why securing the data-movement layer is one of the most cost-effective defences an Australian organisation can invest in. Every day, sensitive data leaves the building via email attachments, ad-hoc FTP scripts, and consumer file-sharing tools. These movements channels offer little or no encryption, oversight or audit trail. Managed File Transfer (MFT) closes that gap by encrypting your data in transit and at rest. This is critical, given only 37% of breached organisations globally had encrypted their sensitive data at the time of breach. Automated, policy-driven transfers replace manual processes, cutting exposure to the phishing and social engineering attacks that top the vector list. They also provide central control and visibility – one platform, one set of access controls, full audit logs - so you know exactly what moved, where, and when. This enables you to detect and fix anomalies faster. Here to Help At Generic Systems Australia we have decades of experience helping Australian and New Zealand organisations protect themselves against malware and other cyber attacks through the power of the world’s leading MFT solution, GoAnywhere . • MFT as Middleware…?! | GSA

< News MFT as Middleware…?! 5 Feb 2025 Enterprise customers are increasingly seeking middleware that enables them to secure and streamline connections between their internal systems and external third-party services. Fortra’s GoAnywhere MFT helps fulfil that need. Integration without Security spells danger Most modern enterprises find themselves balancing the flow of information between complex internal systems and external cloud services. But on both sides of the corporate firewall, there is a shared need for corporate data to be transferred securely and efficiently. “Extract Transfer Load” (ETL) solutions process data and store data in a common internal warehouse. “Enterprise Service Buses” (ESBs) act as a hub providing overall visibility and control over the flow of data and services across different applications. However, neither of these tools specialise in security - an especially critical consideration when dealing with third parties. As security and integration are where current solutions fall flat or fail to provide a unified answer, enterprises are left to look for new models to bridge the gap. GoAnywhere steps up Fortra’s GoAnywhere MFT is not your traditional limited MFT solution. It operates as a lightweight ETL, a functional ESB, and as an efficient MFT platform. What sets GoAnywhere apart from other tools is its focus on security. And in that way, it’s one of the only tools on the market today that can fulfil enterprises’ nascent need for secure and efficient data flows within and outside their organisations. Secure Management, Integration, Automation GoAnywhere provides many of the same automation and integration features as ETL, ESB, and Enterprise Application Integration solutions, enabling enterprises to connect their internal resources with cloud resources and third parties such as: Banks and credit card providers Financial data providers Foreign exchange markets Retirement and pension systems If required, GoAnywhere MFT can perform a middleware role, integrating with an organisation’s existing ETL solution and acting as a managing solution which connects systems, secures communications and integrates. Enterprise-level Security Even when enterprises have dedicated ETL solutions in place, GoAnywhere can fit right in to boost the security of data file transfers. It provides a full range of security layers and controls to protect the exchanged data which no other integration solution can offer. A secure architecture is deployed thanks to a multi-tier solution, including the GoAnywhere Gateway as a reverse proxy on the DMZ, isolating exchanged data from threats on the internet. A Secure ICAP Gateway - a deep content inspection engine – can also be built in, a security tier preventing malicious content infiltrating through third-party interfaces. GoAnywhere’s proactive security has been further enhanced through integration with the Fortra Threat Brain , a massive threat intelligence database which continuously identifies and blocks incoming IPs with bad reputations or malicious intent befor e those threats can enter an organisation. Connect Cloud and On-Prem Applications A final differentiator that makes GoAnywhere a standout in the enterprise middleware space is its ability to connect both on-premises systems and cloud-based applications. GoAnywhere goes beyond what a typical SaaS middleware application can do. For instance, if you offer a middleware platform as a SaaS solution, a lot of organisations still have different on-prem applications in addition to their legacy systems, segmented networks, private and public cloud-based systems and external interfaces with their trading partners. Having yet another SaaS platform makes it challenging to interconnect all these on-prem and cloud data points. However, GoAnywhere can secure file transfers and centralise them across cloud, on-premises, hybrid, or SaaS environments. It isn’t confined to one or the other. Consolidate, downshift, simplify, and streamline For enterprises looking to boost their efficiency and streamline their operations (and that’s all enterprises!) the right middleware can make all the difference. GoAnywhere MT offers more than a typical MFT. With GoAnywhere, enterprises can create a flexible, scalable, high-performance middleware platform to securely: transfer at speeds up to 10 Gbps interface with a wide variety of systems, applications and cloud services protect files from malware get zero trust protection, no matter where files travel, and keep data out of the DMZ. GoAnywhere as Middleware Consistently declared to be the world’s leading MFT , GoAnywhere is renowned for its robust security features, flexibility, and ability to work where and how you need it. For enterprises, that’s becoming the space between all the moving parts. • Migrate from SolarWinds Serv-U to GoAnywhere MFT | GSA

< News Migrate from SolarWinds Serv-U to GoAnywhere MFT 28 Sept 2026 SolarWinds Serv-U has been a familiar part of many organisations’ file-transfer stacks for years. However, as security requirements rise, compliance frameworks tighten, and integration demands accelerate, more teams are reassessing whether SolarWinds Serv-U adequately serves their needs. One of the most common questions I hear is: "How hard is it to move from Serv-U to GoAnywhere MFT?" The short answer is: more manageable than most people expect. 1. A step up in scope, not just a swap GoAnywhere MFT is a broader Managed File Transfer and automation platform. So the migration from SolarWinds Serv-U is a move up to a platform with more moving parts: workflow automation, resources, connections, credentials, and scheduled jobs. That's good news in terms of capability. It also means the migration effort is proportional to how much automation and how many integrations you're bringing over. A shop using Serv-U purely as an FTP endpoint will have less to migrate than one that has built years of custom scripting around it. Of course, eliminating primitive and risky custom scripting – one of the key cyber security exposures for businesses – is in itself a key advantage of moving to GoAnywhere. 2. GoAnywhere's migration path is built to reduce friction Fortra (GoAnywhere's developer) has designed the platform with migration from legacy or multi-tool environments in mind. In practice, that shows up as: Reusable components (connections, resources, keys, credentials) that make rebuilds faster than starting from scratch; Drag-and-drop workflow design that reduces scripting overhead; Native protocol support (SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, AS2/AS4/PeSIT, APIs, cloud connectors) that covers most Serv-U use cases plus additional B2B protocols Serv-U doesn't support natively; and Centralised logging and auditing that simplify validation during cutover. 3. Clean up accumulated complexity Tools that have been in place for many years tend to accumulate a job here, a script there, a custom integration someone built years ago. Migrating gives you a natural checkpoint to: Consolidate scattered workflows; Retire brittle scripts; Standardise security controls; and Centralise governance. That cleanup is a real benefit of deliberate re-platforming. 4. Security and compliance capabilities GoAnywhere MFT includes a host of meaningful security capabilities: Encrypted vaulting for credentials; Granular role-based access controls; Integrated auditing and reporting; A NIST-certified FIPS 140-2 (and, more recently, FIPS 140-3) validated cryptographic module; and Secure API integrations. These are real advantages, and highly-relevant for organisations working under ISO 27001, SOC 2, or PCI DSS. 5. Significant integration enhancements GoAnywhere is built to orchestrate data movement across a wide range of systems - legacy servers, cloud platforms, partner protocols (including AS2/AS4/PeSIT), REST/SOAP APIs, and native connectors into databases and some ERP/CRM systems. For organisations juggling multiple partner integrations or complex B2B protocols, this is a genuine differentiator and often the strongest practical reason to migrate. 6. The business case Migrating to GoAnywhere can plausibly deliver: Lower long-term operational overhead, once workflows are rebuilt; Broader automation and integration coverage; Better audit trails with tamper-resistant logging; and Faster partner onboarding for organisations with complex B2B protocol needs. The Bottom Line Moving from Serv-U to GoAnywhere MFT is a realistic, well-supported migration path, especially when your integration and automation needs have outgrown it. If your organisation is reassessing its file transfer and automation strategy, GoAnywhere is worth evaluating on its real merits - broader protocol and integration support chief among them. Make migration even easier A common concern of companies considering a switch to a better MFT is the potential for disruption. But at Generic Systems Australia, we alleviate this directly through our comprehensive Migration Services . Our technical experts can quickly and efficiently install GoAnywhere MFT and then configure it to replace all your existing scripts, integration packages and other file transfer middleware. This way, you and your team can keep on doing what you do best – free of distractions – while we do what we do best. Make the Move With GoAnywhere MFT from Generic Systems Australia, migration is not only achievable but also streamlined through expert guidance and automation – all available from local technical experts who are the best in their field. • What to Look for in an MFT Solution | GSA

< News What to Look for in an MFT Solution 14 Oct 2026 Most businesses have by now realised their need to improve their cyber security and operational efficiency by investing in a Managed File Transfer (MFT) solution. A growing array of software vendors are promoting their various solutions, eager to attract your business. However, what features and benefits should you look for in an MFT solution? A modern MFT platform is no longer just a mechanism for moving files from point A to point B. It has become a core component of an organisation’s security posture, automation strategy, and operational resilience. Choosing the right platform means understanding the capabilities that genuinely reduce risk, simplify operations, and support long‑term scalability. Security-first architecture The most important requirement is a security‑first design. MFT sits at the centre of sensitive data flows, partner integrations, and automated business processes. Look for platforms that provide strong encryption (in transit and at rest), hardened protocols, secure authentication, and built‑in governance controls. Just as importantly, evaluate how quickly the vendor patches vulnerabilities. A solution that requires disruptive upgrades or manual workarounds to stay secure will create operational drag and increase exposure. Operational visibility and auditability Many organisations underestimate how critical visibility is until an incident occurs. An effective MFT solution should offer clear, human‑readable audit trails, dashboards that surface meaningful activity, and tools that help teams quickly identify anomalies. Raw logs alone are not enough. You want a platform that reduces noise, highlights genuine risks, and supports rapid investigation without requiring deep product expertise. Automation that scales File transfer volumes continue to grow, and manual oversight simply cannot keep pace. The right MFT platform should support end‑to‑end automation, including workflow orchestration, event triggers, API integrations, and policy‑driven controls. Automation should reduce repetitive tasks, suppress low‑value alerts, and ensure that teams spend their time on real risk rather than routine noise. Flexible deployment and patching models Modern IT environments demand flexibility. Whether you operate on‑premises, in the cloud, or in hybrid environments, your MFT solution should adapt without friction. Look for deployment models that support containerisation, cloud-native architectures, and seamless updates. If patching requires downtime, complex coordination, or risky upgrades, teams will inevitably delay updates, creating avoidable vulnerabilities. Resilience and continuity MFT is mission‑critical. Were it to fail, business processes would stall. Prioritise platforms that offer high availability, clustering, load balancing, and disaster recovery options. Resilience is not just about uptime… it’s about ensuring transfers continue even when infrastructure, networks, or external systems experience disruption. Usability and long-term maintainability A secure platform is only effective if teams can operate it confidently. Evaluate the user experience, administrative tooling, documentation quality, and the vendor’s support model. MFT should simplify operations, not add complexity. The best solutions make hardening, monitoring, and maintenance practical and sustainable over time. Transparent Pricing MFT generally makes for a very strong investment case, usually paying for itself in less than year. However, some introductory deals offered by some vendors – particularly those based on volume of file transfers – can prove to be a costly money sink. The initial sticker price may seem appealing; however, your payments will escalate quickly as your usage increases and your MFT footprint grows. An alternative - Server/Node pricing - doesn't punish you add more workload and users over time. The Best MFT GoAnywhere MFT stands out as the strongest choice for organisations that need both security and operational efficiency, delivering a genuinely unified, enterprise‑grade approach to file transfer. Unlike other tools that bolt features together over time, GoAnywhere is purpose‑built around a hardened security architecture, offering end‑to‑end encryption, granular role‑based access controls, secure protocols, and comprehensive auditing that gives IT teams full visibility into every transfer. Its automation engine is one of the most mature in the market, allowing businesses to replace manual processes with reliable, policy‑driven automation that scales effortlessly as volumes grow. GoAnywhere also excels in deployment flexibility - supporting on-premises, cloud, hybrid, and containerised environments - so organisations can modernise at their own pace without compromising security or uptime. Add to that its high‑availability options, intuitive interface, strong vendor support, and proven track record across regulated industries, and it becomes clear why independent experts time and again find GoAnywhere to be the most complete, secure, and operationally efficient MFT solution available. The bottom line Choosing an MFT solution is no longer a checkbox exercise. It’s a strategic decision that affects security, efficiency, and operational confidence. By prioritising security-first design, visibility, automation, flexible deployment, resilience, and usability, IT teams can select a platform that not only meets today’s requirements but is defensible against tomorrow’s threats. • How Cybercrims Cashed in on World Cup Match Streams | GSA

< News How Cybercrims Cashed in on World Cup Match Streams 20 July 2026 Cyber criminals have reportedly made nearly US$220M from the record number of viewers who streamed matches during the 2026 World Cup. The Satori Threat Intelligence team at HUMAN Security found more than 12M compromised user accounts on the dark web linked to 10 of the streaming services broadcasting World Cup matches. While many World Cup matches – including today’s final - aired free on broadcast television in the US, others required a cable or streaming subscription. That created significant demand for low-cost and illicit ways to watch the tournament. At the end of the tournament’s Group Stage, cyber criminals released a record 802,000 compromised accounts, generating an estimated $14.8 million in potential single-day black market revenue. Lindsay Kaye, VP of threat intelligence at HUMAN Security, told  Fortune that fans not wanting to the pay the $30 to $50 for a legitimate streaming account could pay as little as $5 to watch World Cup matches. Prime Targets Broadcasters and streaming platforms are prime targets for cybercriminals seeking to steal user credentials, largely because these businesses move enormous volumes of sensitive data across complex internal and partner ecosystems. They have been under growing pressure from event organisers and rights managers to protect customer accounts and quickly shut down unauthorised live streams. One invaluable protection is a Managed File Transfer (MFT) solution. MFT shuts down common attack paths by replacing ad‑hoc data movement with a single, governed, policy‑driven transfer layer. By enforcing encryption, endpoint verification, MFA, and strict workflow controls, MFT ensures that even if attackers compromise an employee account, they cannot quietly extract subscriber information or authentication data. Credential theft often succeeds because internal teams rely on risky operational shortcuts - exporting user lists, sharing logs, or transferring authentication data through unsecured scripts and legacy SFTP servers. MFT eliminates these weak points by automating transfers, removing human error, and blocking any data movement that isn’t explicitly approved. This prevents attackers from intercepting or exfiltrating user credentials, and it also protects the systems that store them, such as CRMs, billing platforms, and identity providers, by ensuring all inter‑system data flows are encrypted, authenticated, and auditable. Quick Reflexes During times of peak risk - such as major sporting events – when cybercriminals attempt credential scraping or account‑takeover activity, MFT provides the forensic visibility broadcasters and streamers need to respond quickly. Immutable audit logs, real‑time alerts, and detailed transfer metadata allow security teams to detect suspicious behaviour early and contain incidents before they escalate. MFT doesn’t just secure files, it provides organisations a hardened, controlled backbone for all sensitive data movement, dramatically reducing the impact of credential theft and strengthening the overall resilience of their digital platforms. Local MFT Experts At Generic Systems Australia, we have decades of experience helping Australian and New Zealand organisations take advantage of the security and efficiency that MFT provides. • Balancing Cyber Security with Frictionless Customer Experience | GSA

< News Balancing Cyber Security with Frictionless Customer Experience 17 June 2025 Cyber thieves are stealing more from businesses than “just” data and money. They’re stealing customer trust. Research shows that customers are increasingly worried about how well companies are protecting their data. And those worries are hurting companies’ bottom lines. Fears Realised Nearly 2 in 5 customers have been the victim of two or more data breaches, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence. A third of the victims of identity theft have experienced it within the past three years. Stuart Vaeth, SVP of strategic business development at Trua, said cyber theft incidents weaken customer trust and brand reputation. “The result can be lost business. It absolutely impacts the reputation of the service provider,” he said. “Obviously, it erodes trust. People may not come back to your site if your data has been breached.” Research by S&P Global Market Intelligence shows that more than three-quarters of customers are concerned about the risk of trying digital experiences or products that require sharing personal data online. This is a serious challenge for businesses who recognise that customer data is essential to providing personalised purchasing experiences. Cyber Security Integral to Customer Experience The safety of customer data is as much a customer experience issue as it is a cyber security one. Sheryl Kingstone, research director of customer experience and commerce at S&P Global Market Intelligence, said that a mistake many businesses make is to look at their customer data “in a silo”. “When we do take a look at things like what CISOs want or what privacy experts want versus what marketing and customer experience teams want, it becomes very complicated, because we need to mind the gaps,” Kingstone said. “There are trade-offs between compliance and the customer experience.” “Security compliance teams look at ensuring risk and compliance. CX leaders want to reduce customer friction points,” she said. Businesses need to balance customer experience with risk and compliance. Vaeth said that, while CX leaders generally aim for zero friction to prevent drop off, some friction can be beneficial. Collecting customer data directly or asking customers for verification can provide reassurance and need not impact drop off rates. Earning Customer Trust One way to earn customer trust and assure customers you take data protection seriously is to show them your credentials. For example, you can display them on your website and in marketing materials. Another way to demonstrate your “cybertrustworthiness” is to let your customers know when you’re investing in new technologies, improving processes and gaining certifications. It demonstrates you’re on a path of continual improvement that can differentiate you from your competitors. Protecting Customer Data Stepping up to the needs of customer data guardianship requires both technology solutions and sound business practices. Layered defences, with integrated solutions that address encryption, threat protection, and data loss prevention, enable safe collaboration without risking malware, mishandled data, breaches and non-compliance. Given most breaches involve a human element, technology solutions need to be automated and easy for employees to use. Software needs to be able to manage: How access to data is granted; How access is authenticated; How access is tracked and controlled; and How access can be speedily revoked, when needed. Layered Protection A standalone managed file transfer (MFT) solution – such as GoAnywhere MFT - is a great first layer of defence. It provides security for files at rest and in-transit. However, integrating Threat Protection as an additional layer enables you to take appropriate action when there’s customer data moving in and out of your organisation. Based on rules you predefine, Generic Systems Australia’s Advanced Threat Protection Bundle can mask, remove, or permit customer data to be moved within your organisation and beyond, via a Secure ICAP Gateway. On Hand to Help At Generic Systems Australia we’re the Asia-Pacific region’s experts in deploying Managed File Transfer and Advanced Threat Protection. • Legacy Tech Terror - a TRUE Horror Story | GSA

< News Legacy Tech Terror - a TRUE Horror Story 16 Oct 2026 An anecdote shared with me by a local business owner dramatically demonstrated the danger of relying on old-fashioned file transfer scripts within your organisation. "It began as a day like any other..." One day, a staff member accidentally deleted a customer’s data directory. It was a simple error, and one that went unnoticed for a time. However, it was an error with unexpectedly dire consequences. Late in the day, as they had done faithfully for many years beforehand, the business's legacy file transfer scripts ran on their usual schedule. It was routine, mundane, normal. The IT team paid no attention to it. They'd never needed to. It just worked. Or so it seemed... The Perils of PII One of the legacy scripts was responsible for copying customers’ Personally Identifiable Information (PII) between systems. PII – personal details such as name, address, phone number, date of birth, bank details etc – is the most protected kind of consumer information under Australian law. Businesses which mishandle it expose themselves to penalties potentially as high as $50M. On the day in question, this legacy script began copying customer PII between systems. But when it tried to copy one customers PII to the deleted data directory, it couldn't. The destination directory was missing. So the script copied the customer’s PII to a different customer’s directory. This meant the customer’s PII was now visible to and accessible by the wrong customer - a clear breach of Australia’s Privacy Act. Disaster-Proof File Transfers Now, GoAnywhere MFT – the world’s leading Managed File Transfer (MFT) solution – would have prevented this error from occurring. It tightly controls where files are transferred from and to, with high levels of authentication and encryption. GoAnywhere remains vigilant. If it detects anomalies in its authorised file transfers, it doesn’t proceed. Instead, it sends an immediate alert to an authorised employee so that the issue can be addressed – before any data is lost or privacy laws broken. In fact, there are many more reasons why you should replace file transfer scripts with the world’s leading MFT… No Safe Scripts Scripts aren’t secure. For example, data sent via FTP is transferred “in the clear” – an easy target for external hackers, or curious employees and vendors. Worse, user credentials aren’t encrypted, putting your entire system at risk. Scripts lack advanced features. For example, automating file transfers with FTP requires adding a second solution, a time-consuming and complex prospect. It’s also difficult to build in re-try features, and lock down how users interact with sensitive data. Scripts don’t play well with new systems. For example, cloud-based computing environments require file transfers to be integrated with cloud-based solutions, and platforms such as Azure and AWS. Scripts are time-consuming. Developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting scripts takes time, distracting valuable support staff from more important things. And if your support staff aren’t available when a script fails, it can bottleneck your organisation’s entire workflow. The Rescue Mission So, you're probably wondering: what happened to the business who accidentally exposed their customer’s PII? Fortunately for them, a kindly customer spotted that they were seeing another customer’s PII. So the business scrambled to quickly address the problem. They re-created the necessary customer directories and worked through the night to manually move their customer’s data back where it belonged. Whew! However, it’s what they did next that made the biggest difference. Determined to prevent the possibility of any such error ever recurring, the business immediately conducted a comparison of Managed File Transfer solutions. They selected GoAnywhere, the industry’s leading Managed File Transfer – and became a Generic Systems Australia customer. Don't Become a PII Horror Story! If you’d like to learn more about how GoAnywhere MFT could put guardrails around your business’s handling of PII, please feel welcome to get in touch with me . I’m always happy to have an obligation-free discussion or provide a quick and easy proof of concept. At Generic Systems Australia we’re your local experts in MFT solutions. Previous Next

  • Automate File Transfers to Boost Team Efficiency | GSA

< News Automate File Transfers to Boost Team Efficiency 17 Mar 2024 Dodge the Drudgery – Automate Your File Transfers Manually sending files around your organisation, and to external trading partners, is a tedious and time-consuming aspect of many employee’s lives. However, it needn’t be. You can help your team dodge the drudgery via file transfer automation software. This software enables your team to program when files should move between internal systems, other team members, or trading partners, and is often used to manage reoccurring or high-volume file transfers. Your team is freed up to focus on other business-critical tasks. Read on to find out how… The Leading Solution GoAnywhere MFT is the world’s leading secure FTP (SFTP) file transfer automation software. It enables users to quickly automate file transfers and schedule workflows, using its built-in scheduler or your existing scheduler software. Within GoAnywhere's browser-based administrator, users can also automate their workflows by executing projects with a single click. GoAnywhere MFT can execute multiple workflows concurrently, through its job management system. Administrators can define multiple job queues, grouping workflows that share common characteristics or service level agreements. Each job queue can define the priority of their jobs as well as the maximum number of concurrent jobs that can be executed from the queue. All these job queues can be managed and prioritised through GoAnywhere's Administrator interface. Built-In Schedulers With the built-in scheduler you can execute Projects (workflows) at future dates and times. Projects can run just once, or with any recurring frequency you choose. You can also define custom calendars with specific holidays or dates that are important to your organisation, or to avoid scheduling a job on a specific day. Schedules can be further personalised by specifying them to run under specific users, or with start dates, frequencies and other over-riding variables. You can also indicate the email addresses to be alerted when a Project has completed, or encounters any problem. Unlimited File Sizes Large files are no problem for GoAnywhere MFT, or its email add-on GoAnywhere Secure Mail. It enables you to send large files as secure packages on an ad hoc basis, as well as send multiple large files. Even large files transfers won’t choke... GoAnywhere provides auto-resume and integrity checks to keep big files moving, even when it encounters network connectivity challenges. Robust Audit Logs and Reporting Staying compliant with various industry regulations or privacy laws is easier with GoAnywhere MFT. You can generate comprehensive audit logs of all file transfer and administrator activity, including workflow and file server auditing and administrator logging. This data is captured for activity in GoAnywhere servers for AS2, FTP, FTPS, HTTPS, and SFTP, and it includes details on log in attempts, file uploads and downloads, errors, and other events. Reports can be quickly generated, viewed, filtered, sorted and exported as needed. Executing Projects Workflows can also be automated, executing whenever a file monitor detects new, modified, or deleted files in targeted folders. Workflows can be called from local and remote command lines, scripts, and programs using the provided commands and APIs. Workflows can additionally be called as Web Services using SOAP or REST requests. To execute Workflows based on user activity, triggers can monitor for events like when a file is uploaded or downloaded. Workflows can be executed in Debug mode, which enables users to interactively execute tasks one step at a time. At each stopping point, the values for the variables can be viewed or changed before the next task is executed. If you’d like to discuss how your organisation’s file transfers can be automated, adding to your productivity and bottom line, please feel free to contact our Business Manager, Bradley Copson, (mail to: bradley@gensys.com.au ). He’ll be more than happy to offer you an obligation-free discussion, no-cost trial, or Proof of Concept. Generic Systems Australia Your Local Experts in Secure Managed File Transfer Previous Next

QR Codes Popular QR code attacks occur when an adversary leverages QR codes to social engineer a user, such as redirecting a victim to a phishing website or to download a malicious attachment. QR codes are becoming an increasingly popular phishing tactic due to the various features they offer. Cyber attackers have been observed taking advantage of QR code features in the following ways: · The availability of free QR code generators facilitates phishing attacks due to decreased financial costs of infrastructure, and free services tend to have less resources dedicated to takedowns of legitimate service abuse and other malicious activity. · Attackers can combine QR codes with URL shorteners to obscure the true destination of the URL and thereby direct victims to malicious sites. Certain industries tend to be more prone to QR code attacks, such as Retail & Wholesale, as consumers have adapted to relying on QR codes to access these services. Burgeoning BEC APWG member Fortra tracks the identity theft technique known as “business e-mail compromise” (BEC). BEC was responsible for A$4.3B in losses in 2024 according to the IC3. In a BEC attack, a threat actor impersonates an employee, vendor, or other trusted party in an email communication and attempts to trick an employee into sending money, privileged information, or some other asset. · During the first quarter of 2025, gift card scams were once again the most popular scam type, making up more than half the total number of attacks. · The total number of wire transfer BEC attacks observed by Fortra in Q1 2025 increased by 33% compared to the previous quarter. · The average amount requested in wire transfer BEC attacks in Q1 2025 was A$65,000. · 72% of BEC attacks in Q1 2025 were launched using a free webmail domain. · Remcos RAT was the most common malware payload Fortra observed in Q1 2025.
